Default UnNerf SS and Spirit bonder - Why Areneanet should listen

I've been hit like everybody else by the changes to SS and spirit bonder, which did provide a major source of income. Not just for me but for the guild which we used to help other players.

Looking at the arenet website i come across the following regarding community.

"At the very heart of Guild Wars are the players, the gamers, the community of individuals who come together from around the world to play cooperative missions, to take part in high-level or just-for-fun guild-versus-guild or arena competition, or simply to socialize with one another in the beautiful world of Tyria. In this section, you can learn about many individual Guild Wars guilds, get caught up on Community news, and learn about our unique Guild Wars Community Fansite Program."

So at the heart of guildwars are the players.....mmmmmm

When spiritbond came about it was great - you could become an invi monk on a shoe string, u didnt need to save up loads and loads of money -about 50k in order to become a 55.

Also with being a SS you could work in a team and gain access to ecto - of course arenanet has now destoryed this.

It's about time Arenanet Listend to what the Farming community of Guild Wars has to say about this update and change it

Or is the statement above hogwash and Arenanet does in fact not care about it's players.

You do know there were times before SS or spirit bond were ever used, right?

Just because you don't like how an update changes the landscape of the build world, doesn't mean you have a case to beg for it to be reversed. PvPers deal with it, you can too.

In conclusion before lock;

You don't thank Anet enough, the update was awsome, anyone who hates Anet now, is a snoby, ungrateful brat.

I've said this before and I'll say it again:

^ you need to stop being so rude.. the opp is right in his own ways.. and so are you for that matter...

to the opp.. ss and spirit bond are not important.. they dont matter for anything.. what does matter is the fact that all forms of farming are now dead due to the ai changes...

i dont see it fixing itself.. but try to enjoy nightfall as much as possible

So basically, spirit bond was awesome because it turned farming into easy mode and made PvE even more of a joke. Which is precisely why they nerfed it.

These same arguments were made back when people were crying over the first AOE update, it didn't work then, it's not gonna work now.

Effective builds are already being posted. 55 Spoil Victor works fine. Trapping still works just as well as it used to. New builds to solo-farm mobs will pop up soon.

Imho,(replying to this b4 i attend to a concert hehe)
Any skills/spells that exploits monster's AI (inorder to farm) should be smacked with the nerfbat.

I'm not saying that all of the update is bad....just the nerf that they have done to farming.....

Ok why isn't a poll orgainsed which can be setup on this forum i take it with regards to the nerf of SS, and spirit bond.

Then the results taken to arenanet.

The poll be advertised on in guildwars and see what the results are.

If majortity of people are in favour of the nerf then ok.

If the majority of the community are not then areneat should listen.....

Because most will agree with the update and what happened to the skills that these builds use.

Guild wars was not created to be a solo farming tool to collect gold. Its why we have henchmen, for those who dont find a group or lack a certian class they want / need, also why we have a limit in gold we can store. These have been in place and the route they went from the start. In the places we can not use hench, we are encouraged to group with others.

I think the main people are hurt by this
1. can not come up with a working build on there own.
2. have a big need for a lot of money in the game.
3. feel a need that things should be easily handed to them.

That being said I have a monk I have 55 and SB set ups. I can really care less. I have been thinking of dumping the gear for about 2 weeks, and the monk is only 1 month old.

Before that I would just use my ele, war, ranger and set up a hench team and skills reducing the ammount of hench I used. Until I would die to much. You can pretty much clear most zones with 5 man teams (1 PC and 4 NPC) in PVE in Factions. Which is just one more than most farming teams. So your odds are just a little lower on drops.

Also I can still 55 with my monk, without much of an issue. Just change your strat a bit.

There will be new solo builds posted, people will rush to farm it. It will be farmed to hell and back, Anet will nerf it. Another build will be posted etc.

I know there are uses of these skills outside the solo and duo builds. But people are crafty and will come up with new builds. It will just be a matter of time.

Let's take it one step further. Before making any changes to the game, the devs must get a 2/3 majority of players to agree. At this point, the dev council meets to discuss prospective changes. They discuss the changes for a while, then must pass a listof the changes in a dev council with 51% of the vote. The changes then appear before Jeff Strain, who may veto them, undoing everything, or may state the changes are a good idea and that he tentatively approves of paying the programmers to make them.

It's a game, not a red engine democracy. This was a farming build that exploited flaws in the AI. More builds will come. Maybe you could make some of your own. At any rate, if all you ever did in this game was duo the UW, it's probably time to find something new.

can't you see that anet are trying to make Pve more fun rather than just hrind grind grind. way back at the Aoe nerf, lasnpei (sorry i spelt his name wrong), creater of healo bot blues did a comic, a i like to think that with this Ai change we have got to stage 3, which as the comic says, is somewhere in 2006... spooky.

LOL that is great. How about we come up with ideas vote and then they have to do it.

Lets make a new UI call it "wishlist" with drop down lists and items and it will create our perfect item.

Also everytime we log in all our toons and our storage has max gold, and 5 stacks of ecto's. And if you go wild with the money just relog into the game and be full again. cause every now and then I get a wild hair and want to convert all my gold to black dye.

But back on topic of the new update. There are a few things that have come up, mobs still hitting you while they are off of compass map etc that will be fixed. but outside of that I really like what they have done.

With the salvage part of the update, it will let the non farming casual player a bit of a more even playing field to get those nice items/mods they want. Since we have already seen the prices coming down.

And that alone to me is worth killing the solo farming builds. It will be nice if the sellers who put 20/20 +30 mods on every item then try to get 400k for it, are now stuck with those oni blades, etc. Maybe they will salvage fail and get 5 steel ignots.
